Junior Web Developer (Backend)

Our company is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Junior Web Developer (Backend) with basic AI experience to join Parallax Works.

Experience:

• 1-2+ years of professional experience in web development, with strong exposure to backend development.

Knowledge:

• Python
• HTML / HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (for integration and understanding of web flows)
• Solid understanding of REST APIs

Skills:

• Experience with at least one SQL database such as MySQL / PostgreSQL / SQL Server (or equivalent).
• Good understanding of the Django framework.
• Ability to design and implement:
  • Models, views, controllers/handlers, and modular, reusable code
  • Database schemas, relationships, and basic query optimization
• Familiarity with:
  • Authentication/authorization patterns (sessions, tokens, JWT, OAuth concepts)
  • Writing maintainable code, basic unit testing, and debugging

AI / Machine Learning / Chatbot Fundamentals (Required)

• Fundamental understanding of AI/ML concepts (e.g., classification vs regression, training vs inference, overfitting, evaluation metrics).
• Comfortable working in Python with common data/ML tooling such as NumPy / Pandas
• Ability to integrate AI capabilities into web applications via:
  • AI/LLM APIs and/or internal model endpoints
  • Basic prompting and structured input/output handling
• Interest or exposure to AI chatbot development, such as:
• Conversation flows, intents/entities (where applicable), context handling
  • Integrations with knowledge sources (databases, documents, internal APIs)
  • Basic monitoring and iteration based on real user interactions

Knowledge of additional programming languages, AI frameworks, or relevant skills will be considered an advantage. You should be able to provide a portfolio of previous work upon request (GitHub, projects, or demos).

Responsibilities

As a Junior Web Developer (Backend) with AI exposure, you will create and maintain products that meet clients’ or the company’s needs. You’ll be responsible for:

• Writing well-designed, testable, efficient code using best software development practices.
• Building and maintaining backend services, APIs, and database-driven functionality using Python/Django.
• Integrating data from various back-end services and SQL databases.
• Supporting the implementation and integration of AI/ML features, including:
  • Connecting applications to AI/LLM services or internal ML endpoints
  • Building and maintaining backend logic for AI chatbot workflows (sessions, context, routing, logging)
  • Storing and retrieving chatbot/AI interaction data responsibly for analytics and improvement
• Gathering and refining specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
• Crafting and maintaining software documentation (endpoints, data models, configuration, and basic runbooks).
• Collaborating with developers and project staff for progress updates and delivery.
• Researching new trends and advancements in backend development and AI to stay up to date.
